Casual stroll in Covent Garden
In this episode join us as we take a casual stroll around sunny Covent Garden. Covent Garden is well known for luxury fashion and beauty stores, award-winning restaurants and theatres. It’s a buzzing tourist attraction.
We start and end in the historic Covent Garden piazza, a pedestrian square hosting craft markets and street performers since the 1600s.
We take you on a tour around the picturesque market before heading past the London Transport Museum and make our way around the bustling streets of Southampton Street, Maiden Lane, Bedford Street, New Row, St. Martin’s Lane, Garrick Street, Floral Street, Long Acre and James Street. There is something to see on every corner.
On our tour we pass Covent Garden Station, one of the few stations in London which is only accessed by lift or a 193 step spiral staircase.
We also walk past the famous Royal Opera House which is home to The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
Covent Garden is bordered by the Strand to the South, Charing Cross Road to the West, Shaftesbury Avenue and High Holborn to the North and Kingsway to the East.
